About the Writer

Jacob Ouellette is a twenty year old junior at Emerson College in Boston, MA. Majoring in Broadcast Journalism, Ouellette plans to pursue a career in either radio, television, or media relations.

A Maine native, graduating from Sanford High School in 2010, currently serves as the Director of Media Relations for the Sanford Mainers baseball team in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.

At Emerson, Ouellette has been part of the many programs the college has to offer. Since his freshman year, he has worked for the Emerson Athletic Department working various athletic contests as the public address announcer, scoreboard operator, or volleyball line judge. When he wasn't working games, Ouellette served as on-air talent for Emerson Sports Network doing play-by-play broadcasting, sideline reporting, and a co-host for a pre-game segment. For two semesters Ouellette co-hosted a two hour weekly radio show called "The Rock Show" on the campus' internet radio station WECB. During the previous semester he was hired as an on-air DJ for the college's radio station 88.9 WERS.

Ouellette is also an Executive Producer for a small production group created at Emerson called Red Seat Productions. Their most recent documentary, "Brick by Brick: Stories of Fenway Park" was recently released celebrating and commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park in Boston.

He is a lover of sports and has been a die-hard New England sports fan all of his life.
